ABOUT THE RUN-
The first "Save the Bornean Elephants Charity Run" which will be held annually is set to take place along the beautiful coastal roads in Kota Kinabalu on 23 August 2015. It will start from Likas Stadium to the roundabout near Jesselton Hotel in Kota Kinabalu, and then to the roundabout near the Likas Mosque before returning to Stadium Likas.

The prizes for the runners include 3 lucky draws trip (each for 2 persons) to visit and stay (for 3 days and 2 nights) to experience and learn the life of Bornean elephants in Kinabatangan Mega Biodiversity Corridor. More attractive cash prizes for the winner (open and school category)

As part of our strategies in enhancing the awareness and support among younger generation in wildlife conservation and sustainable forest management/practices in Sabah, we organise several charity activities in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Apart from the “Save the Bornean Elephants Charity Run”, another event called “Wild Run" will take place on 4 October 2015 in conjunction with the World Animal day.

The key aims of this charity run include to (i) enhance the knowlegde of the public in wildlife conservation especially the Bornean elephants through information dissemination, and (ii) raise fund to support the publication of the research and reference book on “Population, Ecology and Conservation of Bornean Elephants”. The book is expected to be launched this year. It presents the key findings of the first systematic attempt to study the Bornean elephants, which took 10 years of research using a range of techniques ranging from on-the-ground observations to sophisticated satellite tracking, followed by detailed and complex analysis of the information gathered.
