What is the White Ribbon Campaign?
The White Ribbon Campaign is the world’s largest movement of men and boy working to end violence against women and girls, promote gender equity, healthy relationships and a form a new vision of what it means to be “masculine”.

How is the White Ribbon Campaign different from other anti-domestic violence movements?
Although women’s groups have been working tirelessly over the years to end domestic violence, the White Ribbon Campaign believes the responsibility of ending gender-based violence should not rest on women alone. It has been statistically proven that a disproportionate amount of violence is committed by men against women, but an equally disproportionate amount of males remain silent about the issue, thinking that “as long as I do not commit violence, it is sufficient”. The White Ribbon Campaign works to change this mindset – gender-based violence needs everyone’s input if it is to truly end. Men may not be part of the problem, but they must be part of the solution.

What does it mean to wear a White Ribbon?
Wearing the White Ribbon is a personal pledge that the wearer does not excuse, condone, or commit violence against women. The wearer also shows their commitment to equality between women and men, and their willingness to make a difference.
