SAWADEE! WELCOME TO THIGH LAND. |
Last month (Nov 3-5) capitalizing on a long stretch of public holidays, we took off to Surat Thani by Air Asia for a holiday break. Surat Thani is not a letter (surat) from a farmer(tani), but actually in Thai, it means City of Good People, the title given to the city by former Thai King Rama VI. Surat Thani is the biggest province in Southern Thailand as indicated in the map below.
KUALA LUMPUR ----> SURAT THANI ---> HAADYAI ----> KUALA LUMPUR
We flew to Surat Thani from KL by airasia. We put up a night at Surat Thani downtown. Next morning at 10am we depart to Haadyai on a mini van. The journey from Surat Thani to Haadyai took us 4 hours and it only cost us 250baht per person. We stay 2 nights at Haadyai and took a coach bus back to KL. The bus back to KL was almost 11hours drive with 2 breaks in between for lunch and dinner (Ipoh/ 5.30pm).
We departed from Lcct , and reach Surat Thani airport just over an hour plus. Below is the pic of Surat Thani airport.
After checking out from airport, there was a mini bus waiting outside the airport, which took us to Surat Thani downtown. The fare to town is just only 100baht.
