Restoran Sin Tong Kok ( Sri Jaya)

Just directly opposite of the restaurant is a tyre service shop called Maxxis.

On our way to Sungai Lembing, we make a first stop at Sri Jaya for lunch break (after reading some great reviews from the net). Quickly order some paus and dim sum but unfortunately their famous ''pillow pau'' was sold out. But the food was a bit of let down. The egg tart and pandan egg tart was just terrible. Arguably the best egg tarts are still from Tong Kee Bread & Tarts@Sri Petaling, K.L.

I'm beginning to wonder those great reviews often written by food bloggers are actually  ghost writer commissioned by the restaurant owners to promote their business. So don't believe what food bloggers wrote on their blog, just take it with a pinch of salt. Just don't listen to anyone on the net except me, coz I'm a very honest guy. If you don't believe it, just look up  the word 'honesty' in your dictionary and you will find a picture of me on it.

To get there (those driving from Kuala Lumpur), exit at Sri Jaya interchange , turn right at the first traffic light, and go straight in to Sri Jaya town. It’s a short drive from the toll (abt  1km ). The restaurant is on your left hand side.

On our way back to Kuala Lumpur, we stopped by at Sri Jaya again, this time for dinner, because it was almost 7.30pm and we all started to get hungry, if we don't our take our dinner now, then we need to endure another 40 minutes of hunger before we can reach the next available town for dinner that is Temerloh. After our disappointing dim sum lunch at Restoran Sin Tong Kok yesterday, we decided to try our luck at Dong Mee Hong which is less than a 200meters away from Restoran Sin Tong Kok. The place is a bit run down compare with Sin Tong Kok.

These are the foods we ordered at Dong Mee Hong
1) steamed tilapia fish - teochew style
 2) claypot braised pork ribs
3) stir-fried bitter gourd with eggs
4) Stir-Fried Yau Mak(lettuce) with garlic
5) Hokkien mee
And what a nice surprise the food turns out to be. It was pretty good, much better than the previous night at Hoover Restoran in Sungai Lembing. And the portions here are very generous. And its ironic that while Restoran Sin Tong Kok is almost full house and here its almost deserted , but the food here (Don Mee Hong) is far much better than Sin Tong Kok.

The verdict >> Thumbs up!
The damaged >> RM70+
My rating >> 7 out of 10
